Northern Thailand

Vom 10. bis 23 Januar sind wir durch Nordthailand gereist und waren voellig begeistert.
Wir haben einen Flug von Phuket nach Chiang Mai gebucht. In Chiang Mai haben wir dann das Toeff gemietet eine Kawasaki 650 ccm und sind 1800 km damit gefahren. 
Zunaechst ging es von Chiang Mai in das hoeher gelegene Pai. Nach ca. 400 Kurven und 160 km weiter kamen wir an.
From January 10th until January 23rd we went to North Thailand and just loved it.....We flew from Phuket to Chiang Mai and rented a Kawasaki 650ccm and rode 1800 km. Our first stop was Pai, a mountain village 160 km north west of Chiang Mai. 400 curves later we arrived...

North Thailand - Impressions on Pai

Wir sind 5 Tage in Pai geblieben und haben die gemuetliche Atmosphaere genossen, die Reisfelder, die gute Luft. Nur mit der Kaelte konnten wir uns nicht ganz so anfreunden. Aber auch dafuer wurde mit Lagerfeuern Abhilfe geschaffen. Und die heissen Quellen und Spas sind natuerlich auch der Hit.
We stayed in Pai for 5 days and enjoyed the laid back atmosphere, the rice paddies, the cool air. However we could not really get used to the cold nights, but fires were lit in the evening, what a cosy atmosphere... Hot Springs and Spas with hot Springs are just gorgeous.

November 2010 Back in Thailand

After almost 5 month in Europe, a stay that has been planned completely different from what it turned out to be. We are happy bunnies to be back in Thailand again. Some of changes have happened while we have been away. Our landlady got killed in a traffic accident. Which made us very sad of course. Two of our cats died as well but thanks to Oy and Lynn and Conrad everything has been taken well care of! The wheather is a bit weird since our return and but the rain is warm at least....Yogurt's back is till not ok but getting a bit better every single day.
So back we are and a new cat has adopted us 'Skippy'...
In December we went to Surat Thani and took part in the film shooting of 'The Impossible' with Ewan Mc Gregor and Naomi Watts...From there Lynn, Yogurt and I went straight to Aor Star to do a Visa Run. On our way back we spent the night in  Songkhla.

Nach fast 5 Monaten in Europa, einem Aufenthalt, der eigentlich voellig anders geplant war, sind wir nun wieder gluecklich in Thailand angekommen. Einiges hat sich hier veraendert, am schlimmsten hat es uns getroffen, dass unsere Vermieterin toedlih verunglueckt ist, waehrend wir weg waren. Auserdem sind 2 unserer Katzen gestorben. Vielen Dank an Oy, Lynn und Conrad, dass trotzdem alles so gut in SChuss ist. Das Wetter ist eher seltsam, aber der Regen ist eindeutig waermer. Juergen's Ruecken erholt sich auch so langsam.
Und ein neuer Hausbewohner hat uns adoptiert SKIPPY!

Wir haben dann im Dezember noch als Komparsen beim Shooting zu 'The Impossible' mitgemacht. Ein Film mit Naomi Watts und Ewan Mc Gregor. Anschliessend sind wir dann zum Visa Run aufgebrochen und haben eine Nacht in Alor Star geschlafen, bevor wir dann wieder nach Thailand gingen. Dort noch eine Nacht in Songkhkla und dann wieder retour nach Aonang.

Europe 2010 - another couple of days in Bavaria

Just before Yogurt's surgery (1. Oct.) we spent couple of days in Bavaria. We did not have time to visit all of you as time was too short, but we will be back next year!!!!
Kurz vor Juergen's OP sind wir noch fuer ein paar Tage nach Bayern gefahren. Leider hatten wir auch hier wieder nicht die Zeit euch alle zu besuchen, aber die Zeit war einfach zu knapp. Keine Sorge, wir kommen wieder naechstes Jahr!!!

Europe 2010 - Rita and Max Eifel

As I could not spend as much time a I wanted in Switzerland due to Mum's constillation, Rita and Max came and visited us at our farmhouse in Eifel instead!!! Great weekend. Showed the around in Trier, one of the oldest cities in Germany, went to Viandend, Luxembourg and to the Nuerburg Ring, it was 1000 km Olttimer Race, Max being a fan, just loved it.

Da ich ja nun aufgrund der Umstaende mit Tillz, meine Zeit nicht so einteilen konnte, wie ich wollte, sind Rita und Max kurzerhand zu uns in die Eifel gekommen. Wir hatten ein super schoenes Wochenende. Ausflug nach Trier, nach Vianden, Luxembourg, und an den Nuerburgring, hier fand das 1000 km Oldtimer Rennen statt und Max als Oldtimer Fan war begeistert.
