Mama ´s 80 th Birthday

Then it was time to leave for Mama´s  80 birthday celebration. Mama and Margit wanted to go to the French part of Switzerland - La Romandie....
When we  left Horgau it was pouring down with rain. We had an extraordinay lunch in a beautiful hotel in Schachen, a small village close to Lindau at Lake Constance.

Mama´s 80er näherte ich und so sind wir dann am 2. Juli von Horgau in strömendem Regen in die Romandie aufgebrochen.... Erster Halt war ein vorzügliches und nobles z´Mittag in Schachen, im Hotel Schachen in der Nähe von Lindau, am Bodensee. 

Arriving in Estavyer-le-Lac the sun was out and we had a nice view on Lac de Neuchâtel.
400 km später erwartete uns schönes Wetter in Estavayer-le-Lac am Neuenburger See

The next morning we were greeted with blue skies and we went with Auntie and the Birthday Child all around Lake Geneva....

Am nächsten Tag war Geburtstagswetter und wir brachen auf, um den Genfer See zu unrunden...


First Stop Chateau Chillon, via Montreux we crossed the border to France and had lunch in Evian-
les-Bains, before going back to Estavayer via Geneva.

Dann weiter Richtung Frankreich, Lunch in Evian-les-Bains und dann über Genf retour nach Estavayer-le-Lac an den Neuenburger See.

The next morning it was raining again, so we decided to head back to Horgau instead of staying another day. Unfortunately Margit fell down as she stumbled over a set of stairs in a poorly lit corridor of our hotel. So we headed home immediately. Fortunately at the age of 86, nothing serious, just bruises and a sprained ankle.

Am nächsten Morgen hat es wieder stark geregnet, so entschlossen wir uns, heim zu fahren. Ausserdem hat sich  Margit noch den Knöchel verstaucht, weil sie in dem schlechtbeleuchteten Flur über eine Stufe fiel.... Also sind wir auf direktem Weg heim nach Horgau..

The bathroom wall at the farmhóuse was soaked and some tiles came down, something needed to be done about it.
 Also the wall behind the house was giving way...so Udo and Yogurt decided about what needed to be done,,,,All was arranged quickly, digger, dumper, material...here we go.

Im Eifelhaus drueckte das Wasser mehr und mehr ins Haus und gemeinsam mit Tilly entsclossen wir uns, etwas dagegen zu unternehmen
Die Mauer hinter dem Haus musste weichen und die Aussenwand trocken gelegt werden, dank -do kamen Bagger, Dumper und sonstiges Material fix únd due Maenner haben los gelegt.

This is the way the wall looked like before they started. Main problem was the humidity in the bathroom the water literally ran down the walls.

So the old wall was torn down and a big hole was dug between the mountain and the bathroom to allow the water to flow.

Whilst the men were working on the wall I picked blackcurrants. - 42 kg!

Finally the gutters were cleaned... This weeks resume... the boys moved 10 tons of material, be it stones, cement, sand - you name it... The old wall was taken down, the new one errected, gutters cleaned, new gutters put up... Now the tiles in the bathroom need to be renewed, the roof needs to be fixed and the drainage has to be put in properly.... All of the need to be dones were done by Udo after we left!!!! A huge thank you and a big big hug to you and your great fmily from me Mr. Yogurt and Tilly, of course.

So nun haben sie auch noch alle Regenrinnen gesaeubert - Resume der ketzen Woche ....10 Tonnen Materuíal bewegt, die alteMauer abgerissen, die neue aufgestellt, einzementiert, Drainage gelegt. Die fliesen wird Udo machen, wenn wir schon wieder weg sind, ebenso das Dach dichten und und.... UDO. merci vielmal n dich und deine tolle Family!
