Amazing Siam: Provence

Yogurt surprised me with a lovely birthday present - we will go to Provence for two weeks...Tilly reassured that she was in excellent hands at the hospital.

Juergen hat mich mit einem schoenen Geburtstagsgeschenk ueberrascht, wir fahren, trotz Tilly, die findet, es sei ihr im Spital am besten geholfen...., fuer 2 Wochen in die Provence.Danke Brigitte, dass du uns an den Flughafen gebracht hast.
On May 20th we flew from Duesseldorf to Nice (Thank you Brigitte for taking us to the airport!) and stayed in a small village just outside Grasse, in St. Vallier de Thiey.
Nach der Ankunft in Nizza sinbd wir Richtung Grasse gefahren und haben dann in St. Vallier de Thiey uebernachtet.

From there we went to Castellan the next day, where we found a mobile home to stay for 2 nights. We went to see the Grand Canyon of Europe the Gorge of Verdon. Fascinating landscape. We drove up on the left side and went to Lac de Ste Croix and then had a terrific view returning on the other side of the gorge.

Von dort sind wir dann weiter nach Castellan. Hier haben wir 2 Naechte in einem monile Home geschlafen und haben die Schlucht von Verdon besucht, eine wunderschoene Landschaft. Auf der einen Seite der Schlucht ging es zum see St. Croix und auf der andern wieder retour.

The next day we went along the route Napoleon towards Digne-les-Bains. Here we visited the house of Alexandra David Néel, a fascinating woman, who has been to Tibet in 1924, when it was forbidden.

Dann sind wir ueber die Route Napoleon nach Digne les Bains, wo wir das Haus und Museum von Alexandra David Néel besuchten. Die in Tibet 1924 war trotzt aller Vorbote. Das Buch, mein Weg durch Himmel und Hoellen hat mich immer fasziniert

From Castellan we drove through Valensole and Vaucluse up to St-Rémy en Provence, where we found a great accommodation. Our adorable hosts, Annie and Daniel gave us a warm welcome.

At the beginning we just wanted to stay for a couple of nights but then we found the Albarosa just perfect to spend the rest of our holidays. This meant more driving but less packing...

Hier wollten wir eigentlich nur kurz bleiben, bis wir feststellten, dass es eigentlich ein guter Plöatz ist, um herumzufahren

Anfaenglich wollten wir nur ein paar Naechte in St. Rémy bleiben, doch dan entschlossen wir und die letzten Tage dort zu vebringen, was weniger Packen bedeutete, aber auch mehr Fahren.
