Just after we got back I had another annoying dentist appointment - but Verena and Eddy came to visit - which was just great. Again a very short but intense time... Upon their arrival we went for a quick Alt and dinner after which we had the show at Ko(m)mödchen...
Gleich nachdem wir retour kamen, waren Verena und Eddy schon da. Eine schöne intensive Stippvisite. Am ersten Abend Ko(m)mödchen und Brauhaus...
The next day the weather was not quite as nice as the day before but we still did some interesting sighseeing includeing Media Harbour and House of Carneval, plus lunch and Altbier at Uerige. Thank you for the lovely dinner at Stappen, Oberkassel. Poor Yogurt could not find a parking space he went home instead and joined us again for coffee and a nightcap at 10 pm.
The morning before they caugth the train back to Basel we went to visit Felicitas and of course we chatted far too long and Yogurt performed a speeding rave going back to the Main station. We hopped out of the car and sprinted to the platform just on time, the train left half a minute later....
Am nächsten morgen war das Wetter leider nicht mehr so schön, trotz allem haben wir Sightseeing gemacht. Medienhafen, Altstadt, Haus des Carneval, Liebeskind Bauten, Kö Bogen, alles halbwegs trockenen Fusses. Vielen Dank für das schöne Essen im Stappen, Oberkassel, an dem Yogurt leider nciht teilnahm, denn er hat schlichtweg keinen Parkplatz gefunden. er hat uns dann um 22.00 zum Absacker getroffen.

Bevor die beiden dann am nächsten Tag zum Zug nach Basel mussten, fuhren wir noch zu Felicitas, deren Kunst ich sehr liebe. Natürlich haben wir viel zu lange gequatscht und Yogurt musste eine Ralley Reife Vorstellung hinlegen, so dass wir zum Bahnhof kamen. Durch die Halle gesprintet, hoch zum Gleis in den Zug reingesprungen, der eine halbe Minute später abfuhr - WOW!
Before going to Augsburg we made a stop-over in Westerwald - Good to see you, Rich. A night´s stay turned out to become a three nights stay - good fun. Thanks all of you for the great time.
Auf dem Weg nach Augsburg machten wir Halt im Westerwald - schön, warst du auch da, Rich. Die eine Nacht Übernachtung wurde zu 3 Nächten, bevor es dann weiter nach Bayern ging.

On the way back to Dusseldorf, on a) the hottest day so far this year and b) the day when all counties incl Switzerland and Austria started their summer holidays we had to go back. It took us more than 3 hours to get to Heilbronn (normally a solid 1.5 hrs), when the cooling system broke down. It took another 3 hours before the ADAC towed us to the closest BMW dealer - closed of course - as it was a Sunday. Luckily Europcar Heilbronn was open on a Sunday and had a car for us - so we left the BMW there, took the lovely Audi A 6 to Düsseldorf and had another 4 hours until we finally arrived. The following Wednesday it took Yogurt 7 hrs in total to pick the car up again ...(7 hrs, 800 kms - no speeding ticket :-))
Auf dem Rückweg nach Düsseldorf an dem heissesten Tag des Jahres hatten dummerweise auch die Ferien in ganz Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz begonnen, so fuhren wir von einem Stau in den anderen. Nach über 3 Std endlich in der Nähe von Heilbronn, ist das Kühlsystem ausgefallen. Nach nochmals 3 Std Warten auf den ADAC wurden wir dann zum nächsten BMW Händler abgeschleppt, natürlich war Sonntag und alles hatte geschlossen. Zum Glück nicht die Europcar Filliale, bei der wir einen Audi A 6 mieten konnten, um so endlich abends um 18.00 die Weiterfahrt anzutreten. Am darauffoldenden Mittwoch konnte Yogurt den BMW wieer abholen diesmal brauchte er für die 800 km schlappe 7 Stdunden - ohne geblitzt zu werden :-)
Für uns heisst es jetzt auch Abschied nehmen, am 12. August geht unser Vogel Richtung Thailand - bis ganz bald Ihr Lieben!
