Recherche in Bangkok für den Bruckmann Verlag. Am 4. Oktober sind wir in Bangkok gelandet und Harin hat uns direkt zum Kwan Riam Floating Market geleitet,direkt um die Ecke von unserem Apartment, 30 km ausserhalb der Stadt.

Passing the biggest flower market of Thailand, we made it to China Town, where we had dinner in one of the foodstalls that suddenly appear at night
Am grössten Blumenmarkt für Schnittblumen vorbei, sind wir nach Chinatown gelaufen. unterwegs noch einen indischen Tempel besucht und dann fein gegessen Streetfood ist klasse
The next morning it was raining again, however we decided to go to Ayuttaya - Thanks Harin for the great tour! We started off and visited several not so well known temples
Am nächsten Morgen sind wir im Regen nach Ayuttaya gefahren und haben zunächst mit nicht so bekannten Tempelruinen angefangen

| Tired of Temples |
Yogurt was tired of temples and had a nap in the car, whilst we went to see a contemporary one.
Jürgen war Tempelmüde während wir uns noch einen neueren Tempel anschauten.
A day later Harin and I went into town and started with guess what - right a temple.... Wat Traimit at the gate to China Town. The temple is home to the biggest gold buddha weighing 5,3 tons.
Am Tag drauf gingen Harin und ich dann alleine in die Stadt. erster Stop genau - ein Tempel :-) Der Wat Traimit am Tor zu Chinatown beherbergt den grössten Gold Buddha mit 5,3 Tonnen.

The following day we went to Chonburi and Ko Si Chang, First Stop Ban Sila with its Seafood Market, a wonderful Chinese Temple and great beach side restaurants. Yummers
Am nächsten Tag brechen wir nach Ko Sin Chang und Chonburi auf. Erster Stop Seafood Market in Ban Sila mit einem grossen schönen Chinesen Tempel und Strandrestaurants in denen Seafood Lover auf ihre Kosten kommen Yummmie

The following day was another long day. We went to Petchburi just to find out that the main attraction of the city the Palace on the hill was closed due to construction, soe we headed further South to Hat Chao Samran a small village with quite a nice beach.
Ein weiterer langer Tg folgte. We fuhren zunächst nach Petchburi um festzustellen, dass die Hauptattraktion, der Palast auf dem Hügel wegen Renovierung geschlossen hatte. Dann weiter südlich nach Hat Chao Samran ein kleiner Badeort mit nettem Strand.
Weiter ging es dann Richtung Norden zum River Kwai
Getting closer to Bangkok we found out that the Expressway was closed and we got stuck in a traffic jam for more than 2 hours....
The next day we took it easy and dit some Shopping at Pratunam Market and had a relaxing massage followed by dinner.
These storks were right in the city center
And another day that took us to the Erawan Museum then up to Ampawa floating Market.
One of the nicest and biggest floating markets about 100 kms west of Bangkok.
On the way to Ampawa - guess what Yeah traffic jam... We tried to convince Yogurt that the city is just a big big parking lot :-) and where can you park so long without paying
Auf dem Weg nach Ampawa hats mal wieder Stau gehabt..... Wir haben Jürgen erklärt, die Stadt sei einfach ein grosser Parkplatz und wo kann man schon so lange gratis parkieren :-)
The floating market is only held Saturday and Sundays.

The next day it was Harin and me who took off to Ko Kret. An island in the Chao Praya River inhabitet by Mon people. The island is famous for its pottery as well as for its sweets.
Am foldenden Tag fuhren Harin und ich nach Ko Kret. Einer Insel im Chao Phraya River, die überwiegend von Mon bewohnt wird, sie sind bekannt für ihre Töpferkunst und für Süssigkeiten, die schier zu schön zum Essen sind.

The second last day Yogurt joined in again and we went to China Town
It was the opening of the Chinese Vegetarian Festival - goodies everywhere along the road. Yum Yum
