Um 18.00 haben wir uns im Reisfeld getroffen und um 5 Uhr morgens endete die Party bei uns im Garten

The 34th Umbrella Festival came up in Bosang. This year it was dominated by lots of black umbrellas remembering the death of the latest king HM Bhumipol Aduljadej on October 13th, 2016.

Bei dem  diesjährige Schirmfestival in Bosang gab es auch viele schwarze Schirme zu sehen, einige dekoriert mit Abbildern des letzten Königs von thailand. Seine Majestät König Bhumipol Aduljadej, starb am 13. Oktober 2016.

On the way back we visited Mae On Cave. After a scary climb up to the hill another 180 steps lead Judith and Jospeh down to the cave.

Auf dem Heimweg ging es zur Mae On Höhle. Dank Jiosepg bin ich die schwindelerregenden Stufen auch wieder hinunter gekommen. Während die JJS den Abstieg in die Höhle wagten.

Tweechol Botanical Garden, Doi Saket. A visit to Doi Saket´s privately owned Botanical Garden is a must when in the area. Off the beaten track with hardly any tourists, this park has such a nice tropical ambiance.

Old Lanna Houses -  Imagine how beautiful Chiang Mai must have been 100 years ago.

After 17 years I met Heidy again way back then we all used to work for Rothmans of Pall Mall..... great night out ! 

Nach über 17 Jahren habe ich Heidy wieder gesehen. Damals haben wir alle Drei  für Rothmans of Pall Mall gearbeitet - cooler Abend!

First two nights at Pai Cabanna. Nice Bungalow Place with no guests during the week. Upon arrival I did some sightseeing with the JJs.

The next morning the three of us started early whilst Yogurt had his beauty sleep and went to the Chinese Village where we had chestnuts for brekkie.

Am nächsten Morgen sind wir Drei früh aufgebrochen, während Yogurt seinem Scheinheitsschlaf fröhnte. Erster Stop das Chinesen Dorf, hier gab es ein Maroni z´Morge.

In the last century Chinese fled from the ciommunist regiment in their country and found a new home in Thailand. The dialect spoken in the Chinese Communities in Mae Hong Son is still very similar to Mandarin.

Als der Kommunismus in China im vorigen Jahrundert Einzug hierlt, flchteten viel Chinesen nach Thailand, so auch in die Provinz Mae Hong Son. Auch heute noch sprechen die Kiner der Einwanderer einen Mandarin ähnlichen Dialekt.

Landsplit at Pai. Organic Farm. After an Earthquake in 2000 the land split by 10 metres, you can still see the crater if you walk up higher into their fields. Upon arrival they offer you all their homemade specialities.

Landsplit at Pai. Die organischeFarm, die nach einem Erdbeben einen 10 Meter breiten Krater auf ihren Ländereien vorfand bietet heute dem Besucher Köstlichkeiten ihrer Anbau Produkte dar.

We did not even have to cook the eggs ourselves the nice lady at the hotsprings put them into the geysir for us

Pai Memorial Bridge. This bridge was the old iron bridge of Chiang Mai and has been transportet to Pai after their iron bridge has been destroyed in WW II.

Die Pai Memorial Bridge stammt eigentlich aus Chiang Mai und wurde nach dem Krieg demontiert und in Pai wieer aufgebaut nachedme deren Brücke durch ein Feuer zerstärt wurde.

The second night we wanted to visit the Walking Street and Yogurt thought it would be wise to lock the passports in the motorbike, which he did. Unfortunately he also locked the bike key!!!So thanks to Heike who brought the spare key to Mae Rim and Pom  who posted it on a minivan to Pai we were able to continue our trip to Mae Haong So.

Am zwiten Abend wollten wir auf die Pai Walking Street und Yogurt meinte, es sei beser, die Passe im Töff einzusperren, was er auch tat, leider legte er den Schlüsel dazu... Danke Heike, die den Ersatzschlüssel in Doi Saket nach Me Rim brachte und danke an Pom. der ihn per Minibus nach Pai schickte. So konnten wir dann am folgenden Tag nach Mae Hong Son weiter fahren. 

Die JJS und ich fuhren am nächsten Tag zum Royal Projecct in die Berge und gleich darauf weiter nach Pang Oun wo die Mädels mit dem Bambus Floss in See stachen...

Then onwards to Baan Rak Thai the last Thai Chinese Village just before the border to Myanmar.

Dann weiter an die Burmesische Grenze nach Baan Rak Thai - ein weiteres Chinesisches Dorf mitten in Teeplantagen.

On our way back we stopped at the Bamboo Walking Trail. Nice walk through Bamboo Jungle with Little red riding shirt:-)

Auf dem Rückweg hielten wir am Bambus Jungle an. Eon Weg führt duchr den Wald und Rotkhemdchen war auch dabi :-)

The night at Primavera will be remembered as JJs and Yogurt suffered from severe food poisoning the next day....

So the next morning Judith and I took off to see the temples of Mae Hong Son and the Fish Cave, happy to spend the rest of the afternoon in our bungalow though.

So sind dann Judith und ich am anderen Morgen alleine aufgebrochen und haben uns die Tempel und die Fischhöhle angeschaut. Auch wir waren froh, am Nachmittag wieder im Bungalow zu sein. 

So we soent just another night in Mae Hong Son and continued the next morning. After coffee at the view point we went to Ban Meo Microwave.... Great view from up there.

So konnten wir erst am nächsten Tag aufbrechen und fuhren dann nach dem Viewpoint zum Baan Meo Mirowave - jetzt sind wir richtig verstrahlt!

The next day we continued our journey to Mae Sot. On our way we passed several refugee camps and beautiful unspoilt nature along the border of Myanmar.

Am nächsten Morgen ging es weiter entlang der burmesischen Grenze nach Mae Sot. Auf dem Weg passierten wir Flüchtlingscamps.

Again we stayed in this beautiful teak wood mansion right outside the city.

Und wieder haben wir in dem schönen Teak Haus übernachtet, etwas ausserhalb der Stadt.

Dinner at Khao Mao Kaho Fang - a restaurant in an imaginary jungle, the first time I went there was 17 years ago.... and it is still there...

Back home in Doi Saket we were greeted by Kalle .... Thanks oyu Beetie for taking care of the pets....

Und zu guter Letzt kam dann noch Yogurt´s Geburtstag auf den Plan bevor die JJs wieder in die Schweiz fliegen.
