2500 km auf einem Scooter durch Suedthailand
On January 29the we flew down to Krabi, it was great to be back - everything was so familiar and we were looking forward to seeing our friends. The first idea was to explore the region of Trang, so we took a car and went to Trang Province. After a two hours drive we arrived at Sikao . nothing special here so we looked for some nearby beaches...ended up in Pakmeng a nice agglomeration of an ancient fisherman´s village.
Endless beaches awaited us - one more secluded than the next.... we really loved it there. And it was well worth the research.

Am 29. Januar flogen wir nach Krabi, Zunaechst nahmen wir uns ein Auto und fuhren nach Trang, von dort an die Straende der Provinz - traumhaft - meilenweit nichts nichts nichts....ein Strand einsamer als der naechste und klares Wasser. Wir uebernachteten bei La im Beautiful Flower Resort, schoener Bungalow nicht weit vom Strand....Dann haben wir eine Research gemacht und jede Menge spannende Sachen gefunden.

From Pakmeng to Krabi
We returned the car at the Airport and went to Krabi Town. Spent the night in Krabi Town

The next morning we rented a scooter in Krabi and went to Ko Lanta
The island was incredibly packed - we did not think it would be so crowded for Chinese new year and realised we should have better booked a room. Going down from North to South we have not found a room after three hours - we were sick and tired of hearing the word ´daem´which means full in Thai.... Finally Sae managed to get a a room at Heart Hotel - it was very simple, dark and the hot shower was not working -nothing to write home about - but we had a roof over our heads ....
Had a welcome party at the pub that night . just the four of us . which made up for all the inconvenience....
The next morning we got this beautiful beach front bungalow at Leelawadee right on Klong Dao Beach! We checked in for the following 4 nights, as a meeting in Khaolak was scheduled for the 8th.
Ko Lanta war voll voll. So haben wir die Insel noch nie erlebt!Wir sind 3 Stunden von Nord nach dues gefahren um eine Zimmer zu finden, danach konnten wir das thailaendische Wort fuer Voll , naemlcih Daem - nciht mehr hoeren.. Sae brachte uns dann schlussendlich im Heart Hotel unter. nothing to write home about aber ein Dach ueber dem Kopf---am naechsten Morgen dank Sae, konnten wir 4 NAechte im Leelawadee uebernachten, Beachfront und schoooooeeeeen

Yogurt´s Birthday came up and after a nice Apero with Kerstin at Nong Cat we had a couple of beers at the Safety Stop Ko lanta Diving Center and all of a sudden Yogurt´s surprise came along - Lynn is on the island YEAH Thanks Sae and Christian for organising
Juergens Geburtstag naeherte sich und wir hatten einen tollen Tag. Erst einen Apero bei Kerstin im Nong Cat, dann in der Tauchscule einen kleinen Umtrunk, Essenim Star und anschliessend Tanzen im Pub - what a night - das toillste war, dass Sae und Christian Lynn heimlich auf die Insel schmuggelten.... was fuer eine Ueberrraschung.

go to Khao Lak, as we thought it to be too much hassle to change the
scooter for a car, we decided to go on the scooter.

After Goodbyes at the Dive Shop all went well well - we were the first on the ferry and it only took us 45 mins to get to the mainland and another 50 mins to get through Krabi Town. Then about 30 kms after Krabi on the road to Ao Luk the scooter broke down. The vee belt was torn.... so we stopped a Songthaew and went all the way back to Krabi Town to change the scooter as we needed to be in Khao Lak that night for the meeting in the morning.And we made it to Khao Lak, but as luck had it, we took a wrong turning and went through Takua Pa - this is what you need at 5 pm - another detour of 50K...

Koh Lanta - Khao Lak
Wir sind zeitig aufgebrochen und nach dem Abschied im KDC haben wir die Faehren gut erwischt und waren in 45 min auf dem Festland, weitere 50 Minuten in Krabi Town, dann nach ca. 30 km ist der Scooter verreckt, Keilriemen durch... Songthaew angehalten und retour nacht Krabi Town, neuen Scooter genommenund nach Khao Lak ohne Probleme, auser des Umweges, den wir mal wieder gemacht hatten....

Khao Lak Krabi Town
On February 9th we left Khao Lak and went back to Krabi for another 3 nights. First night reunion with Charo, a pity Estelita has already left for Argentina - any ways we had a great time.
Am 9. Februar sind wir dann wieder retour nach Krabi gefahren um alle umliegenden Straende zu erforschen, ausserdem konnten wir Charo treffen, Estelita ist leider schon in Argentinien

2 weeks and 2500 kms it was time to head back home - Lynn thanks for taking us to the Airport- we will have some more time once you are up North....
A very big thank you to Biggi and Reini for taking care of house and fur kids....
2 Wochen und 2500 km spaeter war es Zeit, heim zu fliegen. Danke an Lynn fuer den Airport shuttle und vielen Dank Reini und Biggi, dass ihr auf die Pelztiere aufgepasst habt.....
