Right on time for my birthday Judith and Ruediger arrived. After half a day at the Spa we picked them up at the airport then went to the rice-field restaurant and ended at the local bar with Conrad an Ralph.
Puenktlich zu meinem Geburtstag kamen Judith und ruediger an. Nachdem ich die erste Haelfte des Tages ein herrliches Spa Programm absolviert habe, sind wir anschliessend mit Judith und Ruediger direkt in die Reis Felder zum Nacht Essen gefahren und haben meinen Geburtstag dann mit Conrad und Ralph in unserer Orts Bar gefeiert.

The following day we relaxed and went to Bo Sang to take a look at the umbrella factory and did some shopping ....
Am naechsten Tag erstmal nach Bo Sang zum Shoppen und natuerlich darf dann auch ein Besuch in der Schirmfabrik nicht fehlen.
Anschliessend dann z'Nacht im Him Restaurant, ein feines Thai - Chinesisches Restaurant an der H 121.

On January 9th we rented three Kawasaki 650 en and did about 1000 kms in three days. The first day we did the Samoeng Loop, from Mae Rim to Haeng Dong and ended in Baan Tawai and had a nice Pizza at Eve and Sai's Pizza Plus in Doi Saket.
Am 9. Januar haben wir dann 3 Kawasaki 650 en gemietet und haben zunaechst die Samoeng Route von Mae Rim nach Hang Dong, ca. 100 km, gemacht. Zum Schluss eine Stipvisite in Baan Tawai und anschliessend eine Pizza bei Eve und Sai im Pizza Plus.

Baan Tawai, is a village where you will find mostly furniture and items made from wood. The factories have large showrooms and goods are made to order and can also be shipped to Europe. Also small vendors selling souvenirs and handicrafts can be found along the roads.
Baan Tawai ist ein Dorf, in dem eunderschoene Moebel fabriziert werden. Ausserdem hat es auch sonstige handicrafts und Souvenirs, die man kaufen kann.

The second day we set off Mae Salong and continued our ride to Thaton, where we stayed at at lovely bungalow site The Garden Bungalows close to the Maekok River.
Am 2. Tag sind wir ueber Mae Salong bis nach thaton gefahren, wo wir nach ca. 300 km eine schoene Bungalow Anlage am Maekok river fanden.

The next morning we set off to Chiang Sean, at the golden Triangle, as Yogurt and I hoped to do our Visa Run there. Unfortunately you cannot get your passport stamped there so we had to go south all the way down to Chiang Khan, on one of the worst roads we have ever travelled in Thailand. After the long tail boat took us back to Thailand we went further south to Thoen, were we finally found a place to sleep. And a lovely Korean BBQ place where we spend the rest of the evening....
Am naechsten Morgen weiter nach Chiang Saen. Wir dachten, wir koennten dort, am goldenen Dreieck einen Visa Run machen, leider nein, hier werden eine Paesse gestempelt, also mussten wir bis Chiang Khan fahren, auf einer der schlechtesten Strassen, die wir je in Thailand erlebt habe, Nachdem uns das longtail Boot dann wieder ueber den Maekhong zurueck brachte, fuhren wir weiter bis Thoen. Thoen ist ein kleines Thai Oertchen, hier fanden wir eine saubere Unterkunft und verbrachten den restlichen Abend im Korean BBQ.

The following morning we rode back to Doi Saket through lovely mountanins and arrived sound and safe and had dinner at Pen's our local bar.
Am nachsten Morgen fuhren wir wieder nach Doi Saket und kamen dort am nachmittag an und nahmen am Abend gemuetlich unser Essen bei Pen in unserer Dorf Beiz ein.

After we returned the bikes the next day we received the good news that Yogurt's new Kawasaki had arrived!
Als wir am naechsten Tag die Toeffs retour brachten stellte sich heraus, das Yogurt's Kawasaki endlich eingetroffen ist Freude koommt auf !!!!
We went to San Kampaeng Night Market and enjoyed to more quiet days with Judith and Ruediger, before they left for Ko Lanta on January 15th.
Am Samstag sind wir noch auf den Nachtmarkt in San Kamphaeng gegangen und am Sonntag haben Judith und Ruediger sich auf den Weg nach Ko Lanta gemacht. Die Woche gin vorbei wie Im Flug.....
