Khanom South Thailand April - June 2018



A few days before Songkhran we left for the South. Rusty stayed with Beetie and the maid took care of Kalle. Yogurt prepared the wheels to protect them from the salt water.


Kurz vor Songkhran, leider zu kurz vorher - haben wie uns in den Süden aufgemacht. Rusty durfte bei Beate bleiben und Sey hat bei uns so oft es ging geschlafen, damit Kalle nicht alleine ist.
Die Felgen hat Yogurt mit einem Spezial Lack überzogen, um sie vor der Salzluft zu schützen. 


 The first day we made it down to Hua Hin. And found this nice Hotel Triple Z... A good Thai Food Restaurant was just next door.

Three days on Koh Phangan - visiting Saeli....





 As usual with Saeli food was excellent @ her new restaurant tum Tiew.... it has been years since we have last seen Sascha  - and of course `I wanne be like youhohooo... `from the jungle book movie was the theme of the eve..


Researching the island we have not been to for the last 10 years

 Than Sadet has this flair to it that Thailand´s beaches had 20 years ago


 And even former kings have visited the island. Rama V has appearantly been her 14 times during his reign and so was lately deceased King Bhumiphol Adiljadev. (Rama IX)

 A quick run to Samui just for the day. So many things have changed in the last 8 years ....

Back on the mainland we spent another 3 weeks in Khanom

 Off the beaten track :-) On the way to Nakhon we took the mountain road.






 Nakhon Si Thammarat
 The well known shadow Puppet Player Subsin, has turned his house into a museum. A Must to visit and talk to the puppet makers-


 Wat Mahathat - The main and very famous temple of Nakhon si Thammarat. Built in the 14th century is one of the oldest tempole in the South and very popular amongst Thais.

We enjoyed the last couple of days in Khanom and then went back to Chiang Mai after 7 weeks... Thank yoou so much Beetie for taking care of Rust and thanks to Sey - Kalle was not alone ! Thanks again Benji for the wonderful time!
